Each jar contains at least 124 tabs and lasts around 2 months when you brush twice a day. That is equivalent to approximately 1.5 tubes of conventional toothpaste.

We offer both versions: with and without sodium fluoride. The fluoride version contains 1,450 ppm, within the legal maximum of 1,500 ppm for adult toothpaste.

According to experts, the legally permitted fluoride concentration of 1,500 ppm is recommended for children aged 6 and over. Our tabs containing 1,450 ppm are therefore suitable from age 6, as is the fluoride-free version.

For children aged around 3 and over, we recommend our specially formulated kids’ toothpaste tabs, with a milder, child-friendly flavor and no strong menthol.

The RDA value is in the medium range at approximately 45–55, making the tabs suitable for daily brushing without putting excessive strain on tooth enamel.

1. Chew a toothpaste tab until it forms a paste.

2. Brush your teeth as usual with your toothbrush.

3. Rinse and smile. Repeat at least twice a day.

The tabs develop a creamy texture when chewed and produce a gentler foam than toothpaste containing SLS.

Yes. As solid tabs, they are not subject to the 100 ml liquid restriction for hand luggage. For journeys involving strong vibrations, such as motorcycle trips, we recommend securely packing the jar rather than carrying loose tabs in a travel container, as intense mechanical stress can cause the tabs to crumble into powder.

Because the tabs are completely dry, with no water or moisture, they naturally keep almost indefinitely. For legal reasons, however, we officially specify a shelf life of 12 months after opening, provided the jar is kept tightly closed.

Conventional toothpaste contains 40–50% water, which requires preservatives and stabilizers. Kiyo tabs are made from compressed powder, contain no water and use only natural ingredients relevant to dental care. They also come in a refillable jar instead of a plastic tube.

Yes. Animal testing for cosmetics and their ingredients has been completely banned in the EU since 2013. In practice, the same applies in Switzerland. Kiyo is also formulated without animal-derived ingredients as a matter of principle.

Both versions are safe and effective. The right choice depends on your personal circumstances.

The fluoride version is suitable if you have an increased risk of cavities, do not regularly use another source of fluoride, such as fluoridated table salt, or your dentist has recommended fluoride.

The fluoride-free version is the right choice if you prefer to avoid fluoride, already get enough from other sources, or have agreed on this with your dentist.
